🗓️ Open Enrollment
The PEIA open enrollment period for 2027 is scheduled from April 2 through May 15. This is your designated window to review and adjust your health, prescription, and optional benefits. Whether you need to add dependents or switch plans to better fit your financial situation, now is the time to evaluate updates to premiums and deductibles.
🚨 Major Update: Plan D is Changing
If you are currently enrolled in Plan D, please take note:
- Mandatory Selection: Plan D has transitioned to the WV Bronze High Deductible Plan. Current Plan D members MUST select a new plan during Open Enrollment; your coverage will not automatically carry over.
- The Trade-off: While premiums for this new plan have decreased by 34% and include a $500 employer-funded HSA, the combined medical and prescription deductible/out-of-pocket maximum has increased by approximately 55%.
- Residency Requirement: This is a West Virginia-only plan. Members must be WV residents, and all non-emergency care must be received within the state.
💻 Introducing ACCESS
Managing your benefits is about to get easier. This summer, PEIA is launching ACCESS (Account Coordination and Centralized Enrollment Support System). This new software is designed to be a more user-friendly, streamlined platform for both agencies and members to navigate their benefits with better efficiency.
🏥 Modern Healthcare Tools
Stay connected to your health with these digital resources:
- Revive Telehealth: Access healthcare providers 24/7/365 for virtual visits and monitoring. Services are covered 100% after a $10 copayment.
- Personify Health Wellness App: PPB members can earn up to $300 in Rewards Cash annually by tracking healthy activities and completing screenings.
- UMR & Express Scripts Apps: Use these mobile tools to access digital ID cards, view plan details, and manage prescriptions on the go.
🩺 Wellness and Preventive Care
- Cancer Screenings: PEIA reminds members that early detection through routine screenings (breast, cervical, colorectal, and lung) significantly improves treatment outcomes. Most preventive screenings are covered at 100%.
- CCP Program: Gold and Silver plan insureds can lower costs through the Comprehensive Care Partnership, which offers reduced or waived copayments for primary care visits.
📋 Important Reminders
- Retiree Medicare Enrollment: If you are nearing retirement and are 65 or older, you must enroll in Medicare Parts A and B. Failure to have both active can lead to significant out-of-pocket expenses or termination of coverage.
- Beneficiary Changes: Any updates to beneficiaries must be made using the official MetLife form and mailed to the address provided on the document.
ID Cards: To receive your medical or prescription ID cards, you must contact your third-party administrator, such as UMR or The Health Plan.
