Memorial Health System Returns to PEIA Network

The West Virginia Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) is pleased to announce that Memorial Health System, with its main campus in Marietta, Ohio, is returning to the PEIA network effective immediately.  The new contract includes hospitals and provider practices owned by Memorial Health System, and as always, services provided in-network in West Virginia or the contiguous counties of surrounding states are covered at the highest benefit level in PEIA PPB Plans A, B and C.  For PEIA participants, this means lower out-of-pocket costs and fewer prior authorizations for covered services delivered at Memorial Health System. 

According to PEIA Director, Brian Cunningham, “I am excited to welcome Memorial Health System back into the PEIA network and look forward to a long partnership.  The carve-outs in border counties are confusing to PEIA participants and present a barrier to care in the communities where they live.  This announcement is a first step toward eliminating the carve-outs and most importantly represents the right thing to do for PEIA participants and their families.  Combined with consistently high demand for services at Memorial Health System, this is what participants tell us they want."
